Bulletstorm Review
February 24, 2011 // 0 CommentsNowadays, first person shooters are focusing on the level of realism, accuracy, stealth, team-based tactics, using powerups and taking cover. Bulletstorm uses almost none of those and still manages to provide an unique and EPIC experience. How does it do that ? Well let’s find out.
The campaign starts in a ridiculous and hilarious way: the main characters, Grayson Hunt and Rell are interrogating an enemy while they’re drunk; at some point Rell challenges Grayson to shoot of the bottle of the captive’s head, all being part of the game’s tutorial. The storyline it’s pretty good from the beginning, even having it’s EPIC moments, but at some point I got the impression that your general lied to you just to give you an excuse to go on and shoot more bad guys.
Running on Unreal Engine 3, Bulletstorm has gorgeous environments that add up to the massive feeling that you’re going to get on the locations that the game takes you on: From roaming around damaged spaceships to descending skyscrapers and running away from excavation wheels while riding a speeding train, all of them are contributing to this fantastic experience that you’re going to get from this EPIC game.
